Supporting Independent UK Brands
Made In UK Day
Earlier this year, we joined forces with hundreds of other UK Made Brands at a brand new virtual event launched by the brilliant Kate Hills. Kate is on a one woman mission to save UK manufacturing and invited us to join an incredible community of small UK brands to celebrate UK makers.
So Why Scultura Activewear?
On first look, our gym wear may seem just like any other brand you find on line or on the high street however there’s a very significant reason why we’re different.
Ever bought activewear and when it finally arrives, it looks and feels nothing like the images you’ve spent hours pouring over on line? Or you find that a sneaky little hole appears somewhere so wrong, after only a couple of wears? Yes, us too and it’s nothing short of annoying!
Well here’s the thing! We’re different at Scultura, why... Because we genuinely want you to receive a truly sustainable gym set that does what it says on the tin, is brimming with quality and that’s truly value for money. You can also feel safe in the knowledge that the process of creating our pieces, goes way beyond that.
For us, it is very much about people too, from the talented women who make our pieces, to you our customer. What you think is super important to us, otherwise we simply wouldn’t exist!
Why We Choose To Make In The UK
So why do we choose to create our sustainable gym wear collections in London? Well, for a number of reasons actually but we’ll start by telling you a little bit about some of the things that are really high on our priority list.
Read on to find out more....
- Producing our activewear in the UK at our London factory (which by the way, also happens to be a social enterprise and teaching academy), means that every purchase helps us to support further education, not only that but it also helps to drive the local economy
- You can be sure you’ll receive the high quality activewear that we promise because it has been made slowly by hand and not by machines. Our gym wear then goes through several quality checks so we can be sure that every piece has been made to last. This is only possible because we make in the UK and can obviously visit our factory as often as we like, keeping a close eye on every step of the production process
- You can always be confident about who ‘made your clothes’ and this is because we personally know the team of artisans who work on our collections. In addition to this, the factory we work with has been awarded ‘leading’ status in the Ethical Fast Forward audit; the only one in the UK with this status. So you can always be confident that the team are making in exceptional working conditions and are being paid properly
- We’re going further than most because by producing in the UK, we’re also being super mindful about our carbon footprint, keeping it as low as possible because we do not need to visit factories on the other side of the world
So, next time you’re thinking about upgrading your wardrobe, whether it be gym wear or a new outfit for the summer months, consider the above and why it’s good to support small independent UK brands.
